James OHea of Derreenavarrihy and Margaret Driscoll of Driminidy married in Drimoleague Church on 10 February 1866.  The Witnesses to the Marriage were Thomas O'Hea and Daniel Driscoll.

Margaret was a daughter of Cornelius Driscoll and Johanna Donovan

The Hayes family were somewhat unusual in Ireland in naming themselves after a mythical god as most families were named after the leader or chief of their clan.
