In Griffith's Valuation of Ireland circa 1850 we see that the townland of Moneylea comprising 249 acs 3rds 38 pchs is shared between Julia Ahern, Jeremiah McCarthy and Jeremiah Lynch. Each has House, offices and land - Jeremiah McCarthy had a house sublet to Daniel McCarthy.
The family moved southwards to Shanacrane.
