William Calnan was a son of Owen Calnan and Catherine Lucey of Kippagh.
Mary Hayes was a daughter of John Hayes and Catherine Hourihane of Drinagh East.

William Calnan and Mary Hayes, both of Drinagh East, married in the Catholic Church in Drinagh on 1 March 1898.  The Witnesses were James Calnan and Kate Calnan.

William Calnan died at Drinagh East on 6 February 1931.  From his death record he was married, aged 64 years, a labourer.  Present at his death and the Informant to the Registrar was his widow, Mary Calnan.

Mary Calnan died at Lananna, Drimoleague on 22 December 1959.  From her death record she was a widow, aged 84 years, a housekeeper.  Present at her death and the Informant to the Registrar was her daughter, Mary McCarthy of Lahanna..
