Thomas Cahalane was a son of James Cahalane and Mary Sullivan of Maulatrahane, Leap, County Cork
Julia Collins was a daughter of William Collins and Kate Hanglin of Maulnagirra, Leap.

Thomas Cahalane, a shoemaker, and Julia Collins married on 6 February 1883 in the Catholic Church in Leap (Kilmacabea Catholic Parish).  The Witnesses were William Collins and Denis Sullivan.

Thomas Cahalane died on 13 October 1930 at Hollyhill, Skibbereen.  From his death record he was a widower, aged 83 yearsm a farm labourer.  Present at his death and the Informant to the Registrar was Mary Keating, daughter of deceased, of Hollyhill, Skibbereen.
