Margaret Cahalane was a daughter of James Cahalane and Mary Sullivan of Maulatrahane, Leap.

Jeremiah Wholly, a blacksmith of Shreelane and Margaret Cahalane, a farmer of Maulatrahane married in the Catholic Church in Leap (Kilmacabea) on 17 February 1870.  The marriage witnesses were Timothy Burke and John Cohalane.
