Michael William Donovan was a son of Joseph Donovan and Ellen Mahony, Union Hall, West Cork

Michael W Donovan sailed on the S.S. Canada from Queenstown (now Cobh, Co. Cork) on 15 July 1898.  From the Ship's Manifest he was 15 years, his last residence was Leap.  His fare was paid by his uncle and he was going to his brother, John Donovan, in Brookline, Mass.

Margaret Deady was a daughter of William Deady and Annie Cavanaugh.

Michael W Donovan (24) of 244 Bowdoin Street, a hotel clerk and Margaret Deady (21) of 2 Webb Park, a waitress, married on 10 October 1906 in Boston.
