Owen (Eugene) Canty and Anne (Nancy) Sweeney married on 23 February 1854 in the Catholic Parish of Rath & The Islands.  The Witnesses were Timothy Murphy and Eugene Sweeney.

Eugene Canty was a son of Timothy Canty and Mary Bawn.  He was born in Old Court and named Owen (Irish name of Eugene) on his baptimal record on 30 Aug 1827 in Skibbereen parish.

Death:
Eugene Canty died at Rath on 16 March 1916.  His death record states he was a widower, aged 91 years, a farmer and his son, Tim of Old Court was present at the death and the Informant to the Registrar. (Note Owen / Eugene both died on 16 March, but different years)
