Denis Mangane and Kitty Collins married in Drimoleague Parish on 2 February 1845.  The Witnesses were Denis Collins and Patrick Mangane.

We note from the marriage entry that the surname of Jerh was recorded as Mangane and he was one of the Brien clan with the branch name or agnomen Mangane.

We do see examples in families especially in the Drimoleague Catholic Parish where the surname used may be either Brien or Mangane.  Some children are baptised Mangane and others Brien as below.
