Hurley, James E. Jr. CLIFTON PARK James E. Hurley Jr., Lt. Col. U.S. Army (Ret) died January 9, 2007 after a brief illness. Mr. Hurley was born May 8, 1916 in Buffalo, N.Y. His military career spanned more than 20 years, having served during World War II and the Korean wars. After Mr. Hurley's retirement from the Army, he worked in the insurance industry and then was employed by the New York State Department of Labor for nearly 20 years. He was a proud Little League coach, a loving husband, father and grandfather. Papa Hurley was known by his family and friends as an enthusiastic storyteller and was ready, willing, and able at all times to share a tale from his adventurous past. These included stories about his childhood, his army years, touring Ireland, enjoying Goose Rocks Beach, and even his visits to the county fair. He is survived by his wife, Janet of Clifton Park; his two daughters, Shelagh Ford of New Windsor, N.Y. and Patricia Hurley of Millington, N.J.; his three sons, James Hurley of Dillsburg, Pa., Stephen Hurley of Lakeland, Tenn. and Thomas Hurley of Highland Ranch, Colo.; as well as ten grandchildren, James and Shona Ford, Andrew and Molly Stubbs, Alan McPheters, and Megan, Melissa, Kyle, Mary, and Ross Hurley. Funeral services will be held Friday 8:15 a.m. from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home and thence to St. Edward the Confessor Church where at 9:00 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery with full military honors. Rosemary A. Wagner LeRoy ~ Rosemary Wagner, age 89, of Bradnell Avenue, passed away Thursday morning (May 15, 2014) at Highland Hospital in Rochester. Mrs. Wagner was born February 7, 1925 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late James and Mary McElroy Hurley. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish and was actively involved with many other community organizations. Mrs. Wagner is survived by her children; Ann Marie (William) Dowdle of Whitinsville, MA, Robert (Connie) Wagner of Jamestown, Susan (Peter) Weaver of LeRoy, Daniel (Carolyn) Wagner of Pittsford, Gretchen (John) Cecchini of Allentown, PA and Michael (Kristin) Wagner of Troy, IL; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Angela (Frank) O'Connor of NJ; several nieces and nephews and many treasured friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Wagner, along with 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 ~ 6 at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy. Angela M. O'Connor of Cresskill NJ, died suddenly on Monday, April 10, 2017 at the age of 90. She is survived by her husband Frank O'Connor ("Effie") of 64 years. She was a special mother to Colleen (Christopher) Paige, Frank (Regina) O'Connor, Kevin (Pamela) O'Connor, Sally (Michael) Martino, Christopher O'Connor, Blair (Elizabeth) O'Connor and Kerry (Sean) Folan. She was much loved by her 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Angela was predeceased by her four sisters Mary, Paula, Fran and Rosemary, and her two brothers James and Richard. Angela grew up in Buffalo, NY. The youngest of seven children, "Babe" graduated from Buffalo State Teachers College. She taught kindergarten after graduating, and later in New Jersey, before retiring with Frank to 22 great years in Savannah, GA. She was very adventurous, loved to travel and always kept active with her bridge groups and book clubs. Angela treasured times with her many longtime friends and loved any chance to celebrate together at family reunions and summers in Maine. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 18th from 10-11 AM at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ, followed by a Mass at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Angela's name may be made to Doctors Without Borders, an organization she supported strongly, or Alzheimer's Association - Caregiver Support, as she was a caregiver herself.
