John was described as a pop singer and television personality from Boston. After his discharge from the U.S. Navy in 1945 he moved to California to pursue a career in show business. He seems to have used the name Johnny Dugan and was a singer, radio and television entertainer, he hosted his own NBC television show, "The Johnny Dugan Show," beginning in 1952. He also hosted the TV show "Ladies Choice."
