James Donovan and Mary Bryan (Brien) married (details not found)
Mary was born in Kinsale, Ireland, a daughter of Charles Brien & Catherine Kelly. She was baptised in the Roman Catholic Parish of Kinsale, Co. Cork on 17 November 1805.
James was born c. 1800 and family history has it that he was of the O'Donovan Rossa clan. Then it is most likely that he was a son of Jeremiah O'Donovan & Máire O'Donovan Báid. This Jeremiah was a grandfather of the famous Fenian, also called Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa. The baptism records for the Roman Catholic Parish of Rosscarbery & Lissevard are only available from November 1814 onwards and marriages from 1820 onwards so we cannot trace prior to those dates.
