Simeon (Simon) Raymond was born on 21 May 1785 in Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut. His parents were Uriah Raymond & Esther Benedict. ( I have noticed in a typed version of the 1880 Census his birth place given as "Canada" while examining the original handwriting one can clearly see it as "Conn" for Connecticut.)
