He was Baptised on 29th June 1890 in Drimoleague Parish in West Cork.

Margaret was a daughter of Jeremiah Regan & Mary Brien

James McCarthy (labourer) of Drimoleague and Margaret Regan (shop girl) of Drimoleague married in the Catholic Church of St. Finbarr in Cork city on 9 August 1914.  The Witnesses were Dam Mahony and Mary Walsh.
