It is likely that Catherine (Catharina) was born in Ardfield in June 1820.
James Mennis married Catherine Donovan on 4th February 1851 in the Ardfield & Rathbarry Parish. The Witnesses were Jacobs Donovan and Demetris Quirk. The Latin names were used in the Register for Bride and Groom as Catharinan and Jacobum.
They had one daughter called Catherine who was baptised on 4 Nov 1852.
