Jeremiah Cahalane of Dirrinsola married Mary McCarthy in RC Church Sneem, Co Kerry on 7 Jan 1870.  At that time he used Dermot as his first name rather than Jeremiah as in the baptism of their children. Diarmuid is the Irish for Jeremiah and Dermot is another English version for Diarmuid. The Witnesses to the marriage were Michael Cahilane and John Donoghue.
