Denis Murphy of Castletownbere married Mary Ann Martin in Castletownbere RC Parish on 1 Nov 1841. The Witnesses were James Martin and John Merrwick.
Mary Ann was a daughter of James Martin of Castletownbere.
The Murphy family arrived in Bantry in 1846 and in 1847 Denis founded the "Steam Sawmills Company".
