Jerome (Jeremiah) was a son of Patrick Donovan and Johanna Donovan
Mary (Minnie) was a daughter of Timothy Lynch & Ellen Dempsey
He was baptised in Leap Church, Co. Cork on 4th May 1881 and his Sponsors were James Tobin and Julia Donovan.
Jerome Donovan and Mary Lynch married in Kilmacabea RC Parish on 7 Feb 1916. The Witnesses were Jerome Connolly and Hannah Connolly. The Celebrant was Rev J. O'Hea. They were 2nd cousins.
Mary died on 10 May 1957 and Jerome died on 7 Dec 1960. Mary and Jerome are buried in the Church burial ground at Drinagh.
Death Notice in Irish Examiner:
O'Donovan (Drinagh) - On December 7. 1960, at his residence, Reavouler, Drinagh, Jerome O'Donovan. Deeply regretted by his sons and brothers. R.I.P. Remains will be removed to Sacred Heart Church, Drinagh today (Thursday) at 4 o'clock. Funeral on tomorrow (Friday) at 2 o'clock to adjoining cemetery.
Jerome and Mary had two sons:
