Michael Donovan of Knockroe, Ballydehob and Mary Sweeney (nowadays McSweeney) of Ballydehob married on the 25 February 1868 in the Roman Catholic Church in Ballydehob in the RC Parish of Schull East, West Cork. The Witnesses were Samuel Swiney and William Swanton. Michael was described as a labourer on his marriage cert. While the townland of Knockroe is immediately to the East of Ballydehob village Knockroe is in the RC Parish of Aughadown. From the Parish description we see "Parish extends from Ballydehob Bridge to within a mile of Skibereen"
