From page 6 of the Southern Star dated Saturday, December 27, 1930 we read the report of the Inquest:-
A verdict to the effect "that the child died from shock due to scalds accidentally received by falling into a basin of boiling water", was returned at an inquest held by Deputy Coroner Grainger, at the Hospital, Skibbereen, on Monday morning, touching the death of Margaret O'Donovan, aged 5 years and 3 months, of Coronea, who died in the Hospital on Saturday.
