Michael Donovan was a son of Patrick Donovan & Ellen Cahalane of Reavouler. Michael was known as "Mick Scartagh"
From the Church records Michael Donovan of Reavouler and Catherine Donovan of Coornishal married in the Roman Catholic Church in Leap on 11 January 1913. The Witnesses were Jerome Donovan and Annie Donovan. Rev J.J. O'Hea officiated.
Michael worked as a gardener for most of his life.

Patrick Joseph O'Donovan, on his brth registration his father is described as a Caretaker. He died aged 17 in Coronea on 6 March 1930. His death record says he was a "gardener's son" and died of convulsions (certified). His father, Michael, was the Informant of the death.
Nellie O'Donovan, born 1 June 1919, married Frank Brown, she died 10 July 1979 in Guildford, England, aged 60 and buried in Guildford (Stoke) Cemetery.
Mary (May) O'Donovan , born 1 May 1921, married Walter Forey
Michael O'Donovan, born 17 March 1923, married Teresa Cadogan, he died 29 June 2004, buried in New Cemetery, Skibbereen
John O'Donovan married Winnie Brunning, he died 23 April 2003, aged 78 years
Margaret O'Donovan, aged 5 years, died on 20 December 1930 from scalds after falling into boiling water
Kathleen O'Donovan, born 7 December 1929, married Jeremiah Burke who was son of
Cornelius and Catherine Burke. She died in Croydon, Surrey in July 1993
The family moved to Derrygool, Skibbereen where Michael and Catherine lived.
Death Certificate entries:
Michael died on 27 Oct 1959 in St Anne's Hospital in Skibbereen due to "congestive heart failure" from his Death Cert., a retired gardener, married and aged 75 years.
On her Death Record Kate died in Derrygool and was shown as aged 73 years, a gardener's widow and the Informant of her death was Kathleen Burke of Derrygool.
