Cornelius Cahalane and Honora Donovan were in the Kilmacabea Catholic Parish at the time of the birth of their son, Daniel Cahalane. From his Church Baptismal record he was born in Carhoogarriff and baptised in Kilmacabea (Leap) on 12 February 1836. The Sponsors were James Cahalane and Mary Donovan.
We do not have records of any other children since the Church records for that Parish date from mid 1832.
Death of Cornelius:
Cornelius Cahalane died on 19 August 1887 at Garryglass, Drinagh. From his death record he was a widower, aged 82 years, a labourer. Present at his death and the Informant of it to the Civil Registrar was Daniel Cahalane, his son of Garryglass.
