Ancient genealogies indicate the origination of the MacCarthy Cremeen sept in the 14th and Cremeen is well known to this day as a McCarthy agnomen. Crimmeen, Cremeen, Cremin, Cremen, Crimmins is well-known family name in Cork, Kerry and Limerick. It is of West Cork origin, and said to be a branch of MacCarthy.

Griffith's Valuation Books for Deelish, Dromdaleague do not contain a Daly surname.  The survey was generally carried out in this area in the early 1850's and was completed for County Cork on 20 July 1853.

Timothy (Thade) Daly was a son of John Daly and Ellen Whooley
Mary McCarthy Cremeen was a daughter of Cornelius Cremeen and Ellen Hurley.

Mary McCarthy Cremeen's second marriage was to Timothy Daly

Mary Cremeen was the widow of George Fuller

Timothy (Thade) Daly and Mary McCarthy married in Drimoleague on 5 May 1855.  The Marriage Witnesses were Daniel Leary and John Nyhan.

We see that in the baptisms of the children that the mother's name was Cremeen mainly and McCarthy in two instances.  The State birth records commenced in Ireland in 1864 and we see the birth record for the child Johanna Daly born on 12 Nov 1865 and there the mother's maiden name is McCarthy.  The father is a farmer on that record.
