James Flahavan was a son of Jeremiah Flahavan and Margaret Sullivan.
Kate Donovan was a daughter of Daniel Donovan and Mary Hayes.

James Flahavan and Kate Donovan married in the Catholic Church in Leap (Kilmacabea Catholic Parish) on 25 November 1865.  The respective father's names are listed as Jeremiah Flahavan of Ballinaclogh and Dan Donovan of Clonakilty.    On the Civil Marriage record James is listed as aged 30 years and Catherine aged 19 (which was not accurate but in that era aged were variable, especilly since she was a minor her age was extended; it is closets to her actual age on her death record below).  The Marriage Witnesses were Timothy Carthy and Patrick Carthy of Ballinaclogh.
